A handgun vault provides compact, dedicated storage when a full-size safe is more space than you need. Choosing the right model means considering access, usable space, placement, and how the vault can be secured.
Southeast Safes offers Liberty handgun vaults with biometric and key-operated access options.
👆 Biometric Handgun Vaults
Liberty’s Home Defender HDV lineup offers fingerprint access, with additional entry methods depending on the model.
Our handgun-vault page currently lists the HDV-150X, HDV-250X, HDV-350X, HDV-500X, and HDV-700X.
Compare each model’s interior dimensions, entry methods, power requirements, and mounting options. Features such as keypad access, Bluetooth connectivity, interior lighting, and fingerprint capacity vary by model.
🔑 Key-Operated Handgun Vaults
For straightforward keyed access, explore the Liberty HDV-50 and HDV-90. These compact vaults provide an alternative for customers who prefer a key-operated lock.
Compare usable interior space against the items you intend to store, and keep backup keys secure and separate from the vault.
📏 Check Fit Before Choosing
Exterior dimensions alone do not tell you whether your handgun will fit comfortably. Consider the firearm’s overall dimensions, attached optics or lights, and any other items you intend to store.
Also allow enough clearance to open the lid or door fully in the intended location.
🔒 Plan How to Secure the Vault
A compact vault’s location and installation matter. Review the manufacturer’s instructions for mounting or securing the particular model. Included cables and mounting equipment vary.
Avoid assuming that a small vault provides the same resistance to removal or attack as a full-size, anchored safe.
📋 Review Certifications and Warranty Coverage
Check the exact model’s listed certifications and warranty before purchasing. Do not assume every handgun vault has the same approval, coverage period, or included equipment.
For travel or vehicle use, check the rules applicable to your trip and location. A product’s travel-related description does not replace those requirements.
