LIBERTY SAFE WARRANTY: WHAT TO EXPECT
When you buy a Liberty gun safe, you are also getting peace of mind by having the best warranty in the industry. We know the purchase of a safe is often a once-in-a-lifetime investment. Therefore, in the unlikely event your safe has defects in materials or workmanship, we believe you should be reasonably covered for it. Here’s what you should know about your Liberty gun safe and its warranty.
First Things First…Activating Your Warranty
As soon as you receive it, you need to register your gun safe to prevent any problems with future warranty issues. You must register your safe within 30 days of purchase or you risk voiding your warranty. Liberty makes it easy to register your safe online to activate your warranty right away. We will then email you a copy of your warranty registration certificate for reference if you ever need to make a warranty claim.
What Does ‘Lifetime’ Mean to Liberty?
When Liberty says your gun safe is covered for a lifetime, they mean it. Unlike some manufacturers that use fast-talk and fine print, Liberty’s lifetime warranty is clear-cut and easy to understand. If your safe experiences any defects in materials or workmanship, Liberty will repair or replace your safe at no cost to you as long as you reside in the United States or Canada for as long as you live.
Transferring Ownership of Your Safe
What if you decide to sell your safe? What happens to your lifetime warranty? You can simply transfer it to the new owner. You also need to make it official with a bill of sale and by filing a transfer of ownership form with Liberty.
Your Liberty gun safe is also covered in the unlikely event it is damaged in a fire, break-in or break-in attempt if your homeowner’s insurance does not cover the damage. It’s our way of making sure our customers are well taken care of and happy with their safes.
Unlike other safe companies that offer just a one-year warranty on their safe locks, Liberty offers a full five years of protection for parts and labor to fix any defects in materials or workmanship. We also offer a five-year warranty on the exterior paint surfaces of your safe.
Any electrical items in your gun safe, including light fixtures, switches, cords and transformers are covered for one year from the date of purchase for any defects in materials or workmanship. Liberty Safe goes the extra mile to make sure our customers and their safes are protected for a lifetime of use.
Rhino Metals, Inc. offers to the original Purchaser a Limited Lifetime Warranty, covering defects in workmanship, material for labor and parts, damage by unlawful attempted or actual break-in, and fire. This warranty applies only to safes located in the United States and Canada, purchased at an authorized Rhino Metals, Inc. safe dealer, and that have been used solely in residential applications. Commercial or industrial use applications carry a 1 year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.
In order to receive warranty support under this warranty, Purchaser must provide Rhino Metals, Inc. with (1) proof of purchase, (2) a written statement, (3) photographs of the damaged safe, and (4) a police or fire department report. Rhino Metals, Inc. will make the decision to repair the safe in-home, at the factory, or replace the safe altogether. If possible, the safe will be repaired locally. If the safe is to be repaired at the factory or replaced, Rhino Metals, Inc. will, at its expense, have the safe opened, if required, and will pay for the freight back to the factory. Purchaser must package and palletize the safe and make the safe available for a curbside pickup at their expense. This warranty does not cover any costs for removal or installation of the safe or its contents. Personal property in the safe is not covered by this warranty.
The obligation of Rhino Metals, Inc. under this warranty is contingent upon proper use, installation, and maintenance of the safe and shall not apply to safes or safe parts which have been neglected, misused, or exposed to extreme or unusual environments. The safe must not be located in an enclosed swimming pool area and must be located in a climate-controlled area. Any modifying or tampering with the safe which alters or affects the safe’s use or operation voids this warranty.
Without limit, this warranty specifically excludes any liability for defects or damage caused or increased by the use of unauthorized parts. Upon purchase, the Purchaser must promptly notify Rhino Metals, Inc. of any defects with the safe and/or lock. The Purchaser’s remedies are solely limited to repair or replacing parts, and are at the discretion of Rhino Metals, Inc. This warranty gives the Purchaser specific legal rights, and the Purchaser may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
Locks and electronic keypads are covered for 5 years from the original date of purchase, covering defects in workmanship and materials for labor and parts. This warranty does not cover forgotten or lost codes/combinations, lost keys, dead or weak batteries, or improper opening procedures. Lights and electrical components carry a 1 year warranty. Paint or powder coat finishes and interiors carry a 1 year warranty based on proper care and environment.
This warranty is given in place of all other warranties and assurances, whether expressed or implied, including but not limited to, matters of merchantability, quality, or fitness for purpose. Rhino Metals, Inc. accepts no liability under any circumstances whatsoever, for any incidental or consequential damage or loss suffered by anyone as a result of using or being unable to use the safe and/or lock.
